Cuba Rescue provides frontline emergency medical services to residents and visitors of Cuba and the surrounding region. Staffed by volunteer EMTs, EMRs, and paramedics, our team delivers pre-hospital care when minutes matter most. Calls may involve chest pain, strokes, trauma injuries, diabetic emergencies, or other urgent medical needs.
Because of the long distances to hospitals in rural New Mexico, our ambulance crews are often the only advanced medical care patients receive for extended periods of time. Our EMTs provide rapid assessment, stabilization, and transport while maintaining constant communication with receiving hospitals. The Ambulance Division also partners with the Rescue team and fire suppression crews to ensure patients at fire and accident scenes receive the highest level of care possible.
In addition to emergency response, our Ambulance/EMS Division plays a vital role in community health and safety. We provide medical stand-by coverage for local events, school activities, and high-risk community functions, ensuring immediate care is available when large groups gather. Our EMTs also engage in public education by teaching CPR, first aid, and basic life support skills, empowering citizens to respond to emergencies before professional help arrives. Through both emergency response and proactive outreach, Cuba Volunteer Fire Department’s EMS team strengthens the safety net that protects our community every single day.
