About Us

Cuba Volunteer Fire Department

The Cuba Volunteer Fire Department proudly serves the community of Cuba, New Mexico, and the surrounding areas with dedication, professionalism, and heart. As a combination department with both paid staff and volunteers, we respond to a wide range of emergencies including structure fires, wildland fires, medical calls, vehicle accidents, and rescue operations.

Our department includes three paid positions and a strong team of committed volunteers—firefighters, EMTs, and support staff—who train regularly to ensure readiness. We are equipped to handle the unique challenges of our rural and mountainous region and often work closely with neighboring departments and emergency services to provide mutual aid during larger incidents.

More than just emergency responders, we are members of the community. We participate in local events, offer fire safety education, and provide CPR and first aid classes. Our junior firefighter and internship programs help train and inspire the next generation of emergency service professionals.

The Cuba Volunteer Fire Department is funded through local government support, grants, and generous donations from community members. These resources allow us to maintain our equipment, improve training, and stay prepared for any emergency.

We are available 24/7 and are committed to protecting life, property, and the environment. Whether you need assistance, want to get involved, or simply learn more, we invite you to reach out or stop by. Thank you for supporting The Cuba Volunteer Fire Department—together, we keep our community safe and strong.
